Oliver Yandle, CAE

Strategic Thinker. Problem Solver. Change Agent. Trusted Advisor.

Oliver Yandle makes a difference. For nearly 20 years, he’s helped organizations solve their most complex and challenging problems with innovative and practical solutions. His diverse experience with a variety of not-for-profit associations enables him to quickly analyze the challenge, develop practical options, and deliver remarkable results.  Be it a financial crisis, a governance crisis or an identity crisis, Oliver delivers effective strategies that turn crises into opportunities for growth.  His extensive expertise is focused on the turnaround, transition and growth of nonprofit membership organizations. He has effectively met unique organizational, financial, and administrative challenges to positively impact revenues, volunteer programs, member value, and governance.

Associations have been Oliver’s passion almost since birth.  A native of Lafayette, La., at age 4, he was a member of the Krewe of Oberon, a children’s Mardi Gras carnival club.  At 7, he was a Cub Scout and later a Boy Scout.  In junior high, he was a leader in student government and was only the second junior in his high school’s history to be elected student council president (and re-elected as a senior).  In college, he was elected International President of Circle K, a collegiate affiliate of Kiwanis International.  Not surprisingly, his first job out of college was with – you guessed it – an association.

His professional experience includes serving as the CEO for:

·         an international association of corporate defense counsel

·         an international building service contractors association

·         a national organization of residential real estate appraisers

·         an international league of commerical lawyers, collection agencies and other business and credit interests.

He has experience in all aspects of association management and is a frequent author, facilitator and speaker on leadership, management and governance matters. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Association Forum of Chicagoland, the American Society of Association Executives and the Louisiana Society of Association Executives.

He has seen first-hand the enormous good associations can do when mission, strategy and people align.  And he has seen the devastating consequences when they don’t.  He began Yandle Executive Solutions to help association leaders experience maximum success.
